About the event

Let's get coding! This 10 week interactive course teaches 3rd-6th grade students the basics of block coding using Scratch. Block coding introduces fundamental program conceps such as sequencing, loops, conditionals, and variables in a fun and visual system that makes it easier for kids to understand and manipulate code logic. No need to memorize syntax here!

Students get to develop logic models and learn algorithmic thinking, which involves creating step-by-step instructions for solving problems (a crucial skill for coding AND everyday problem solving!) while building their own video game and characters. Students will test and refine their project throughout the course, giving them a game they can continue to play long after the course is over!

This course integrates concepts from many school subjects, giving students a chance to apply everything they have been learning. Students will find math, logic, language arts, and design concepts all have their place in the coding world!

Registration: $480 ($48 per 1.5 hour session)

Please note that this is an interest form ONLY!  Submitting this form holds a spot for your student, but does not automatically bill you. An interest form must be submitted for each student, and a staff member will follow up with you afterward. Students are not enrolled in a course until payment or a voucher/PO is recieved. For more information, please refer to the funding section of the Student and Family Handbook.
